Waltham – Mrs. Jeannette M. (Woods) Claffey, of Waltham, died July 17, 2011 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 77 years old.
Jeannette was born in Waltham on July 25, 1933, a daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Woods. She was a life-long resident and was a graduate of Saint Charles High School. Until her retirement she had worked at the former Waltham Hospital as a receptionist and also volunteered with the American Red Cross.
She was the wife of the late John J. Claffey, Jr.
She leaves her children, Douglas J. Claffey and his wife, Evelyn, of Hopkinton, Mark F. Claffey and his wife, Jean, of Houston, Texas, Mary L. Cusano and her husband, Dennis, of Concord, Christopher J. Claffey and his wife, Lauren, of Framingham and Timothy M. Claffey and his wife, Jennifer, of Framingham; her sisters, Maryellen Annese of Yarmouth and Patricia Wilson of Bedford; her eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late John Woods.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeannette’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday July 20th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
