Mrs. Jeannette D. (Joyce) Lawson, of Newton, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 in the Scandinavian Living Center in Newton. Born in Boston, Mrs. Lawson had lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Newton. She was a graduate of Newton High School and had attended Bentley College. Mrs. Lawson was the assistant treasurer for State Street Bank for twenty-one years. In later years, she was the assistant to the Dean at Bentley College. Mrs. Lawson was a World War II veteran who served with the United States Coast Guard. She was an assistant treasurer to the United Fund as well as a volunteer at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital coffee shop. Mrs. Lawson was the wife of the late Robert C. Lawson; the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (Morrell) Joyce; and the sister of the late Eleanor Wentworth, Robert, James, Francis, and Paul Joyce. She is survived by her sisters, Lorraine Joyce of Brighton and Natalie Andersen of Needham, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Saint Philip Neri Church, 1518 Beacon Street, Waban. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
