Waltham – Mrs. Jeannette C. (Geoffrion) LeBlanc, of Waltham, died Friday, May 4, 2012 a Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 98.
Jeannette was born in Waltham on August 11, 1913, a daughter of the late Theophile J. and Agnes (Guertin) Geoffrion, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston and until her retirement she worked for many years as a word processor at Grover Cronin's Department Store on Moody Street in Waltham.
She was a longtime member of Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham where she belonged to the Third Order of Mary and after its closing became a member of Saint Mary's Church on School Street where she joined the Legion of Mary.
The wife of the late Alphonse J. LeBlanc, she leaves her step-children, Fred J. Greenwood of Belmont, Jane A. LeBlanc of Leominster and Linda A. Richards of Scituate; 3 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jeannette was also a sister of the late Marie Estelle Geoffrion, Edna Bourgeois, Agnes Geoffrion, Elizabeth Levasseur, Sr. Noemi Geoffrion, R.C.E., Sr. Imelda Geoffrion, R.C.E., Narcisse Geoffrion and Theophile Geoffrion.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeannette's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, May 8th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
