Mrs. Jeannette M. (Blouin) Martin, of Waltham, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 93.
Jeannette was born in Newton on September 6, 1930, a daughter of the late Charles and Laurette (Frechette) Blouin, and was a graduate of Newton High School. Until her retirement she worked for years as an executive secretary for the General Electric Company.
A Waltham resident for more than sixty-five years, she and her late husband, Ron, enjoyed traveling by cruise ship and more than thirty trips brought them throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Europe.
Jeannette was a former member of the Wal-Lex Bowling League and the Waltham Senior Center where she was a frequent participant in activities and trips. Rides to Maine for a good lobster roll, reading books, playing cards and in later years, daily phone calls with family and friends, were favorite pastimes.
The wife of the late Ronald P. Martin, she leaves her son, Steven K. Martin and his wife, Janice, of Hudson; her grandson, Christopher A. Martin and his wife, Christina; her brother, Robert Blouin and his wife, Margery of Newton and many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was also a sister of the late George Blouin (late Pamela) and Teresa Noonan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeannette’s life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, January 24th from 12 noon to 1 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham will be at a later date.
