Jeannette V. Scafidi, of Waltham, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. She was 83.
Born in Waltham on August 10, 1940, Jeannette was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Vincenza (Camuti) Scafidi. Jeannette graduated with the Waltham High School class of 1958 And worked as an accountant at Raytheon for forty-two years before her retirement in 2000.
Jeannette was a devout member of Sacred Heart Church and found solace in her faith. She had a strong passion for New England sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. Jeannette also loved exploring new places through her extensive travels all over the world.
Jeannette is survived by her brother Bernard Scafidi and his wife Patricia of Westminster and her sister-in-law Rose Collura Scafidi of Hudson along with many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her siblings Salvatore Scafidi, James Scafidi, Carlo Scafidi, Ernest Scafidi, Baby Alfred, Alfred Scafidi, Richard Scafidi, Robert Scafidi, Raymond Scafidi, Leonard Scafidi, Anthony Scafidi, Phillip Scafidi, Domenica Marmonti, Concetta Ferro, Josephine Collura, and Marie Scafidi.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeannette’s life by gathering in the Joyce funeral home, 245 Main St., (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, January 17th for visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
