Jeannette T. (Delaney) Williams

October 30, 1936 — November 18, 2017

We come to realize that we are a piece of the puzzle of someone else's life. And while we may never know where we fit . . . we know that others will fill the holes in our lives with pieces of their own. A big piece of the puzzle in the lives of the Williams and Delaney families was Jeannette Williams. Their much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend died peacefully in the presence of them on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland. She was 81.

Jeannette T. Delaney was born October 30, 1936 in Waltham, a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Suzanne H. (Chiasson) Delaney. Raised and educated in Waltham she graduated from the former Saint Charles High School.

She married Frank L. Williams on April 29, 1956 in Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham and together they continued to make Waltham their home where they raised their six children. Frank's unexpected death on May 18, 1995 certainly changed Jeannette's life . . . but it didn't end it. With a large family whom she adored she lived independently as a widow. She was always able to give reason for others to laugh all the while laughing herself.

In her children's earlier years she worked as a waitress at The Chateau Restaurant and later as a bookkeeper at Saint Sebastian's High School in Needham before retiring in 2004.

In addition to the love and company of her family Jeannette enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, a win with keno or luck with the lottery.

In addition to her husband, Frank, she was predeceased by her siblings, Daniel Delaney, Marie Edna Chiasson and Lorraine Pelletier.

She leaves her children, Elaine S. Corbett and her husband, Paul A., Thomas D. Williams and his wife, Suzanne deLemos-Williams, all of Waltham, Lawrence A. Williams and his wife, Sandra, of Marlborough, Christopher P. Williams of Nashua, New Hampshire, Wayne E. Williams and his wife, Laurel of Bellingham and Jacqueline L. Williams of Waltham; her grandchildren, Shawn, Kristyn and Pamela Lyons, Aaron Williams (Lauren), Dennis Williams (Michelle), Gavin Williams, Jeffrey Crapo, Mitchell and Jake Williams, Shannon and Brandon Williams; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Noah, Gabriella, Owen, Abigail and Faith; her sister, Eveline Pelletier of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and many nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jeannette's life by gathering for calling hours in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rt. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 21st from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will be private.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Waltham Council on Aging, Meals on Wheels Program, 488 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02453 or to the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Road, Suite 301, Framingham, MA 01701.
