Jerid J. Chiasson

Clearwater, Fla. – Mr. Jerid J. Chiasson, of Clearwater, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater following a long struggle with addiction. He was 41.

Jerid was born in Waltham on July 9, 1977, the son of Richard E. and Karen A. (DellaCamera) Chiasson, and had been a lifelong resident before moving to Florida two years ago. He was a graduate of Waltham High School where he excelled in hockey and lacrosse.

During the Iraq War he served with the United States Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic and airframe repairman aboard ships at sea. He worked for years afterward as a talented carpenter specializing in wood crafting and cabinet making.

In addition to his parents, Jerid leaves his wife, Leigh A. (Cashman) Chiasson; his sister and her husband, Carrie and Christopher Casey and their children, Hailey and Alexandra "Lexie" Casey, all of Tyngsboro; his grandmother, Irene DellaCamera of Waltham; his aunts and uncles, Susan and Charles Papia of Rumney, New Hampshire, Debra DellaCamera and Mark Rogers of Lincoln, Gail Wessell and Chuck Georgiou of Maynard, Gerry Wessell of Maynard, Elizabeth and David Walsh of Olympia, Washington, Elaine Hackett of Cincinnati, Ohio and Paul Chiasson of Lexington, Kentucky and his in-laws, Karen Pignatelli and Wes Rawding of Canton, Rick and Katrina Cashman of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jamie and Rachell Cashman and their children, Eric and Jake Cashman, all of Waltham.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jerid's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, January 4th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
