Waltham – Miss Joan M. Carey, of Waltham, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 73.
Joan was born in Somerville on April 11, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Emily (Haviland) Carey and was raised in Boston where she graduated from Girls High School. She moved to Waltham in 1974 and until her retirement worked for the Raytheon Corporation.
She leaves her sisters and brothers, Alice C. Carey and John A. Carey both of Waltham, Edna Bucelwicz of Needham and Joseph McCarthy of California and three nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joan’s life by gathering at her funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
