Framingham Mrs. Joan M. (Daggett) Fennelly, of Framingham, formerly of Waltham, died Monday, November 27, 2006 at her home. She was 70. Born in Waltham, Joan was raised in Watertown and had lived in Waltham for forty-four years before recently moving to Framingham. She was a 1954 graduate of Rosary Academy in Watertown and had attended Framingham State College. Joan had worked for many years as a librarian at the Waltham Public Library and before that, she had worked at the Waltham Federal Savings Bank. Joan had been a corporator and member of the patient relations committee at Waltham Hospital and had been a member of Saint Charles Mothers Club in Waltham. She was also a founding member of the parish 1000 Club. For many years she taught swimming for special needs students at the Waltham Boys & Girls Club and had been a volunteer for the Buddy Warner Ski Club at Prospect Hill Park in Waltham. She was an avid tennis player and had been a longtime member of the Weston Racquet Club. She was also a former member of Oakley Country Club in Belmont. Joan also belonged to the Waltham Garden Club, the Piety Corner Club and the Junior Womens Club in Waltham. She leaves her husband, Richard M. Fennelly, Jr.; her children, Richard M. Fennelly, III and his wife, Judi, of Millbury, Gregg Fennelly and his wife, Rosemarie, of Natick, Karen J. Fennelly of Framingham and William W. Fennelly and his wife, Laura, of Millbury; her grandchildren, Ashley R., Richard M., IV, Gregory S., Kyle P., Christopher R. and William M. Fennelly; her mother, Mary C. (McKenna) Daggett of Waltham; her sister, Arlene M. Daggett-Campbell and her husband, Gordon Campbell, of Rockville, Maryland and many nieces and nephews. She was also a daughter of the late George F. Daggett, Sr. and a sister of the late George F. Daggett, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 10 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
