Joan M. Johnson

Waltham - Miss Joan M. Johnson, of Waltham, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in West Newton. She was 86.

Joan was born in Waltham on November 17, 1923, a daughter of the late Albert D. and Georgianna M. (Burns) Johnson and had been a lifelong resident. She had worked for many years as a comptroller clerk at Boston College until her retirement. Joan was also a former lector and a eucharistic minister at Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Waltham.

She leaves one brother, Paul Johnson of Deland, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was also a sister of the late Irene Longbottom and Georgianna Armstrong.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joan’s life by gathering to visit in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo, 51 Hall Street, Waltham on Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
