Watertown - Mrs. Joan A. (Hughes) Lane, of Watertown, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida. She was 71. Born In Waltham, a daughter of the late James P. and Elizabeth (Flynn) Hughes, Joan had lived in Watertown for many years before moving to Florida nine months ago. Until her retirement Joan worked as an assembler for over twenty-five years at General Scanning Company in Watertown. She found her greatest joy in spending time, and caring, for her family and friends. She was the sister of the late June E. Babin, Barbara Curewitz and James Hughes. Joan leaves two daughters, Lori Lane of Watertown, and Elizabeth Bruce and her husband, James, of Florida; one sister, Lorraine Kusmirek of Waltham; her grandchildren, Sarah, Jonathan, and Andrew Helie and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 8 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Patrick's Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
