Waltham - Mrs. Joan M. (Grimes) Mardirosian, of Waltham, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 in her home. She was 74.
Joan was born in Waltham on November 5, 1939, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Sarah (McHugh) Grimes. She was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School.
On July 2, 1960 she married Fred Mardirosian and the couple soon moved to Belmont where they made their home before moving to Waltham twenty-five years ago. Until her retirement Joan worked as a bookkeeper for the Marriott Corporation.
In addition to her husband, Joan leaves her son, Gregory Mardirosian of Waltham; her daughter, Jean I. Saavedra and her husband, Hector, of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late William Grimes.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joan's life by gathering to visit from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday morning, September 29th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
