Mrs. Joan (Howarth) Panjian of of Enfield, CT, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, May 27, 2006, in the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford, CT. She was 87. Born in Preston, England, Mrs. Panjian had lived in Waltham for most of her life before moving to Connecticut. She operated Renie Spa, a family variety store, in Waltham with her late husband, Gregory Panjian, Sr. for many years. She was a member of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church and a daily communicant of Saint Marys Church in Waltham. Mrs. Panjian was also a Secular Carmelite and a member of the Marion Movement for Priests. In addition to her late husband, Mrs. Panjian was the mother of the late Charlene Plummer, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Walmsley) Howarth, and the sister of the late Frederick Howarth. She is survived by her children, Brian Hughes of Adams, Gregory Panjian, Jr. of Ellington, CT, and David Panjian of South Attleboro; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 am from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham, followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, at 10 am. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm.
