Joan C. (MacKenzie) Surette

Mrs. Joan C. (MacKenzie) Surette, of Waltham, died Monday, February 5, 2024. She was 88.

Joan was born in Dorchester on November 22, 1935, the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (MacDonald)  MacKenzie. Raised in Newton, she was a graduate of Newton High School and moved to Waltham in the late 1950’s following her marriage to Henry G. Surette.

In addition to her parents and husband, Henry, she was predeceased by her grandson, Mac H. Surette, her brother, Ronald MacDonald, and her cousin, Ann Murrin.

She leaves her children, Henri C. “Chuck” Surette of Waltham, Nancy J. Surette of Waltham, and Susan C. Surette (Sean Walsh) of Middleton.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joan’s life by gathering to visit in the Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut Street, Newton on Saturday, February 10^th from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow.
