Waltham – Mr. John R. Brady, of Waltham, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 67.
John was born in Waltham on January 7, 1945, a son of the late John F. and Gertrude A. (Ryan) Brady, and had been a lifelong resident. Until his retirement he worked the City of Waltham Street Department.
John was a big sports fan who enjoyed the change of seasons and following the trials and the triumphs of the Red Sox and the Celtics. Throughout his life he loved fixing up old cars he found in Auto Trader magazine, especially a '57 Chevy that he restored years ago.
He leaves his brother and his sister, William M. Brady and Bette L. Brady, both of Waltham; his nephew and his niece, Jonathan Tolman of Stoughton and Kristine Lovett of Quincy and his brother-in-law, David Tolman, Jr. of Stoughton.
John was also a brother of the late Judith A. Tolman.
Family and friends will honor and remember John 's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, July 11th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning in Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton where graveside services will be held.
