Waltham – Mr. John P. Brazil, of Waltham, died on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. He was 78.
John was born in Hyde Park on February 22, 1933, a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Clifford) Brazil. He was graduate of Hyde Park High School and later served with the United States Army during the Korean War. Before moving to Waltham in 1969 he had lived in Watertown. Until his retirement he worked as a telephone repairman for the Western Electric Company. After that he worked at the Star Market store on Lexington Street in Waltham.
John loved spending time with his friends at Dunkin Donuts and taking his dog 'Mickey' for walks. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and also enjoyed photography.
He leaves his wife, Nora T. 'Nan' (O'Sullivan) Brazil; his daughters, Lisa M. Brazil of Waltham and Kelly A. Aucoin and her husband, Paul, of Waltham; his sisters, Mary Ryan of Dedham, Margaret Geary of Randolph and Helen Ryan of Westwood and several nieces and nephews.
John was also a brother of the late Thomas and Daniel Brazil.
Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 22nd, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
