John A. Brewer

Waltham - Mr. John A. Brewer, Sr., of Waltham, formerly of Weston, died Thursday, November 13, 2008. He was 85. Born in Kemp, Texas a son of the late Robert and Mary Brewer, John had lived in Weston for many years before moving to Waltham. He was an elecrical contractor for Brewer and Calhoon Company in Weston for over fifty years. John was a member of The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Lions Club, the Massachusetts Electrical Contractor's Association and the National Rifle Association. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting and gardening. During World War II and the Korean War he served with the United States Navy. John was the husband of the late Marion E. (Gilman) Brewer. John leaves his children, John A. Brewer, Jr. and his wife, Magdalen, of Northborough, Kathleen E. Moloney and her fiance, Kenneth Dunn, of Dracut and Michael A. Brewer of Watertown; his grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole, Jay, Ryan, Rylee, Kelly and Teryn; his great-grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Faith and Leah and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attened the Funeral at 9 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham, followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research, Hirshberg Foundation, 2990 S. Sepulueda Blvd, Suite 300C, Los Angeles, CA 90064.
