Venice, Fla. – Mr. John E. Cappadona, of Venice, formerly of Waltham died Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Venice. He was 69.
John was born in Waltham on May 28, 1945, the youngest of seven children born to the late Stefano and Josephine (Lopez) Cappadona. He was a graduate of Waltham High School and after service with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War attended Fisher Junior College in Boston.
Until his retirement he worked for more than thirty years as a systems analyst for the City of Boston. He moved to Florida five years ago where he was an avid golfer and sailor.
He leaves his children, John J. "Jack" Cappadona and his wife, Stephanie, of Melrose and Matthew T. Cappadona of Waltham; his sisters, Jeanette Headrick of San Diego, California, Nancy Kezer of West Boylston and Pauline Magee of Acton and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Stephen Cappadona and a brother of the late Joseph, Robert and Edward Cappadona.
Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, July 1st from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
