Waltham Mr. John F. Carroll, Sr. of Waltham died Friday, March 26, 2004, his 93rd birthday, in Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. Mr. Carroll was a lifelong Waltham resident who graduated from Saint Charles High School. He was the owner of John Carroll Used Cars for over fifty years. Mr. Carroll was interested in race cars as well as motorcycles. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 1018 in Waltham. Mr. Carroll was the husband of the late Marguerite A. (Monahan) Carroll; the father of the late John F. Carroll, Jr., Richard H. Carroll, and Elizabeth A. Carroll; and the son of the late Hugh and Alice (Carroll) Carroll. He is survived by his son, George A. Carroll of Waltham; his daughter, Geraldine R. Brier of Hudson; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham, at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations in Mr. Carrolls memory to the Alzheimers Association, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140 would be appreciated.
