Waltham Mr. John J. Cloherty of Waltham, formerly of Watertown, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. He was 70. Born in Watertown, he lived in Watertown for many years before moving to Waltham in 1978. Mr. Cloherty was a graduate of Saint Patricks High School, Class of 1952. Mr. Cloherty was a pipefitter for the Boston Gas Company for thirty seven years. During the Korean War he served with the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Cloherty was the husband of the late Cecilia M. (OGrady) Cloherty and the son of the late Joseph and Delia (Sullivan) Cloherty. He is survived by his children, John 'Jack' J. Cloherty, Jr. and his wife, Janice (Gentile) and Patricia E. Dragone and her husband, Robert, all of Waltham; his grandchildren, Lauren and Robert Dragone and Michael, Christopher, and Meaghan Cloherty; one brother, four sisters, and Austin, the dog. The Funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
