John F. Coleman

Milton – Mr. John F. Coleman, formerly of Waltham and West Newton, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 in Brush Hill Care Center in Milton. He was 70.

He was the husband of the late Charleen A. (McCue) Coleman who died October 20, 2007.

John was born in Billerica on February 16, 1947 to the late Walter and Mary (Smith) Coleman. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in the Department of Public Works for the City of Newton for 38 years until his retirement in 2008.

John leaves his son, Keith P. Coleman and his husband, Jay Carlson, of Faison, North Carolina; his sister, Sandra M. Connelly, of Waltham and his former wife, Betty Ann Kmieczak, of Fusion, North Carolina.

John was the brother of the late Julieanne Coleman and the uncle of the late Lawrence J. Connelly.

Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
