Nashua, NH – Mr. John "Jack" T. Galligan, of Nashua, formerly of Waltham and Lexington died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Burlington. He was 70.
Jack was born in Waltham on July 24, 1947, a son of the late Andrew and Helen (MacDonald) Galligan. He graduated from Waltham Vocational High School and furthered his education at Northeastern University in Boston and at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He also served with the Massachusetts Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.
Until his retirement, Jack worked as an engineer for the Liquid Metronics division of United Technologies in Acton.
Jack was an aficionado of genealogical research and became the family expert in all things ancestral. He reserved his greatest affection however for his children, grandchildren and the family 'grand-pups', Ryley and Fenway. He was a long time Patriots season ticket holder, beginning in the lean years, and had been a lifelong fan of the Red Sox.
He is survived by his children, John B. Galligan and his wife, Christina, of Darien, Connecticut and Melissa J. Boulan and her husband, Sebastian, of Greenwich, Connecticut; his grandchildren, Katherine and Thomas Galligan and Anden, Avery, Asher and Austyn Boulan; his former wife, Linda D. (Sage) Galligan and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was the brother of the late James and Gerald Galligan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jack's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, March 25th from 2 to 5 p.m.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
