Dracut - Mr. John T. Gorgone of Dracut, formerly of Waltham, died Friday February 10, 2006 in his home. He was 82. Born and raised in Waltham, a son of the late Gaetano and Rosie (Allia) Gorgone, he had been a lifelong resident before moving to Dracut five years ago. Until his retirement, John worked as a technician for the Raytheon Corporation for more than fifty years. During World War II, he served with the United States Army. He was the brother of the late George Gorgone, William Gorgone, Frances McDonald and Virginia Tobin. He leaves his wife, Esther (DeGiorgio) Gorgone; one son, John J. Gorgone and his wife, Dawn of Nashua, New Hampshire; one daughter, Dolores Phillips and her husband, Jimmy of Santa Cruz, California; one brother, Joseph Gorgone of Brockton; one sister, Eleanor Oliver of Waltham; his grandchildren, Tanya, Kristina and Brandon Gorgone and James Phillips and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20) Waltham. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
