John C. Green

Needham - Mr. John C. Green, of Needham and formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, May 29, 2017 in Wingate at Needham. He was 66.

John was born in Lowell on July 17, 1950, the son of the late Stanley and Eileen (Entwistle) Green. He was raised in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School. He married Jacqueline Gahan on April 3, 1977 and the pair settled in Waltham where they were residents until 2002.

Until his retirement John worked for Optima Shipping and before that worked for a number of years for Jet-Spray of Waltham. A lifelong devotee of 60's rock music he had been a member of a band in his younger years. He enjoyed following local sports teams, especially the Red Sox, and also found great pleasure in playing a round of golf.

Besides his wife of over 40 years, Jacqueline, he is survived by his son, Scott C. Green of Worcester; his siblings, Jeffrey and Brian Green of New Hampshire, Michael Green of Lynnfield, Judy Sullivan of Saugus and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday June 3rd at 10:30 a.m. followed by his funeral service which will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
