Waltham – Mr. John T. Griffin, of Waltham, died Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Wingate at Brighton. He was 87. Born in Boston, a son of the late John and Ada (Ballard) Griffin, he had lived in Waltham for the past fifty-eight years. John joined the United States Army in 1940 and served for the duration of World War II, having been discharged in 1945. He was a longtime member of the Fogg-Roberts American Legion Post No. 78 in Hyde Park. Until his retirement, John worked as a design engineer for the Arthur D. Little Company in Cambridge. The husband of the late Elizabeth V. 'Betty' (Cloues) Griffin, he leaves his brother-in-law, David Cloues and his wife, Ruth, of North Chelmsford; his nieces and nephew, Marilyn Correa, Paul Clouse and Linda Foden; 6 grand nieces and nephews and one great-grand nephew. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Thursday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
