Bedford – Mr. John B. Jaillet, Jr. of Bedford, formerly of Waltham, died on Friday, November 18, 2016 in The Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. He was 85.
John was born in Needham on May 3, 1931, a son of the late John B. and Marceline (Maillet) Jaillet. A proud veteran he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war John went to work as a chemist at the Millipore Corporation for over thirty-five years.
John had a passion for life and his personality was infectious. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was camping when the kids were young, playing as many rounds of golf as possible or later in life just feeding the birds. He was loved by all and was a fixture at The Bedford Council on Aging where he picked up a passion for playing pool and leaves many dear friends. He followed all the New England sports teams but was especially loyal to his favorite Red Sox.
He is survived by his children, John G. Jaillet and his fiancé, Jacqueline Tamedi, of Bedford and Jodi N. Jaillet and her husband, Theodore Windt III, of Lowell; his grandchildren, Michael Jaillet, John Jaillet and Kristina Jaillet and her fiancé, Josh Kortisses; his step-grandchildren, Stephen Godfroy and Kheredine Tamedi; his great-grandchildren, Jack Jaillet, Jacob and Mariah Bouvier and Logan Kortisses; his siblings, Ronald Jaillet and his wife, Catherine, of Nashua, NH, and Annette Cormier and her husband, Norman, of Waltham; his sister-in-law, Anna Jaillet, of Lexington; his former wife, C. Shirley Austin of Lowell and also leaves many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Norman Jaillet, Sr.
Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 22nd from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
