John D. Lankhorst

Natick - Mr. John D. Lankhorst, of Natick, died on Friday, May 20, 2016 in Leonard Morse Hospital, Natick. He was 57.

John was born in Concord on November 29, 1958, the son of the late Abraham L. and Beverly (Phillips) Lankhorst. He was raised in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School. He then enlisted in the Navy where he worked as an Aviation Support Technician aboard various aircraft carriers. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially at their former vacation home in Essex where he could often be found fishing.

He is survived by his sisters, Nancy L. Jarvis of Newbury, Karen Butler of Marshfield, Missouri and Ellen L. Bernardi and her husband, Michael, of Waltham and step-nephews, Christopher and James Bernardi.

Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 27th from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning in Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Road, Medford where graveside services will be held at 10 a.m.
