John F. McAndrews

West Yarmouth – Mr. John F. McAndrews, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Waltham, died Monday, March 27, 2017 in Cape Cod Hospital. He was 73.

Born in Waltham on May 29, 1943, he was a son of the late John and Velma (Fraser) McAndrews. He had been a longtime resident of West Newton before moving to West Yarmouth fourteen years ago.

Until his retirement he worked as a manager for Saint Bernard's Church in West Newton. He found much peace and contentment burying his head in his latest book and spending time at the beach, especially Seagull Beach, in West Yarmouth.

John leaves his wife, Beverly A. (Saunders) McAndrews, his children, Gary E. McAndrews and his wife, Nancy, of Southborough, John R. McAndrews and his wife, Jaime, of Foxborough and Melissa A. Erba and her husband Brian, of Waltham; several grandchildren including Jillian and Morgan Erba; his siblings, Judy Melanson, of Waltham, Thomas McAndrews, of Bellingham, Linda Gaudet, of Waltham and Robert McAndrews, of Marlboro and several nieces and nephews.

John was also the father of the late Gregory A. McAndrews and brother of the late Richard McAndrews and Jean McAndrews.

Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, April 1st from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. and will conclude with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
