Lincoln – Mr. John R. Mixon, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He was 85.
Born in Cambridge, a son of the late Scott I. and Isabella M. (McBeath) Mixon, John had been a Lincoln resident since 1956.
Until his retirement he worked for many years as an office manager for Accumeter Laboratory in Wellesley. After that he worked for a number of years managing a comic book store on West Street in Boston. John was also a World War II veteran serving with the United States Army.
John leaves his brother Arthur J. Mixon of Lincoln, and two cousins, Edward L. Thorsen of Concord and Barbara Bailey of Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Church, 730 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham.
