John G. Negrotti, Jr., a devoted family man and respected member of the Newton community, peacefully passed away at his home on October 4, 2023, blessed to be surrounded by his family. John was 62.
Born in San Mateo, California on October 3, 1961, John was the eldest son of the late John G., Sr. and Patricia L. (Pinneo) Negrotti and moved to Newton as a young child. John attended school at Our Lady’s and Newton High School. John was the proud business owner of Silver Lake Liquors in Nonantum for over 35 years where he cultivated many relationships and made long lasting friends, before moving on to manage delivery operations for Dion’s in Waltham. You could find John frying meatballs in his garage, or following his boys to yet another basketball game, attending an Atina San Marco Society event, or helping run the homemade wine tastings with the Ciociaro Social Club. John was a kind and generous man. If someone needed help, they went to John. He looked out for his neighborhood community and took care of people who were important to him. His greatest accomplishment…his two sons, Christian and Niko.
John leaves his beloved family, wife Brenda (Farina) Negrotti and his two proud sons Christian and Nicholas of Newton, his siblings Lorinda Fisher (Robert) of Florida, David Negrotti (Deborah) of Colorado, Robert Negrotti (Mary) of Holliston, and Jeanne Shields (Joseph) of Newton, along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate John’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Thursday, October 19th from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery, Newton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to the Mass General Cancer Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, c/o Newton-Wellesley Hospital Development Office, 2014 Washington Street Newton, MA 02462
