Weston Mr. John J. 'Bud' OConnor of Weston, formerly of Dennisport, died Monday January 9, 2006 at the Deaconess Glover Hospital in Needham. He was 82. Born in Waltham, he was a son of the late Harold and Ella (Coughlin) OConnor. John graduated from Belmont High School. He served with the United States Navy during World War II and had worked in the automobile industry for many years. He was the late owner of Belmont Ford and also owned Mr. Rent-A-Car in Hyannis for many years. He was a resident of Weston for 22 years before moving to Dennisport where he lived for 18 years. He moved back to Weston ten years ago. John also spent his winters in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a member of the Belmont and Hyannis Rotary Clubs. He was the husband of 51 years to the late Evelyn G. (Mahoney) OConnor. He was the father of the late John S. OConnor and brother of the late James OConnor. He leaves his children, Deborah L. Halloran and her husband, John, of Weston, David C. OConnor and his wife, Lillian Jen, of Cambridge and Laurel A. OConnor of Newton and her husband, Frederick A. Wang; his grandchildren, Aimee Jackman, Michael Halloran, Andrea and Allison Wang, Luke, Paloma and Erin OConnor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Julias Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
