Waltham— Mr. John J. O’Reilly, of Waltham, died Friday, December 30, 2022 in Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was 62.
John was born in Waltham on December 2, 1960, a son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Gallagher) O’Reilly. A lifelong Waltham resident, he had worked at various cemeteries in Waltham and Danvers, including Grove Hill and Mount Feake. Most recently he was a tow truck driver for various companies in the area. John was an avid Boston sports fan and especially loved following the Bruins and the Patriots.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Wade, Thomas O’Reilly, Jr., William O’Reilly, and Catherine Bevington, and his brother-in-law, Michael DeProfio.
He leaves his son, Daniel J. Beaman of Beverly; his brothers and sisters, Ellen Kelly (Edmund) of Lee, Joanne DeProfio of Bluffton, South Carolina, Suzanne DiBona (Bruno) of Newton, Patrick O'Reilly (Cheryl) of Laconia, New Hampshire, Margaret Gentile of Waltham, Richard O'Reilly of Laconia, New Hampshire, and James O'Reilly of Waltham; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary Bevington and Joanne O'Reilly; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Friday, January 6th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
