Waltham - Mr. John R. Pacetti, of Waltham, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Parmenter House Hospice Residence in Wayland. He was 62.
He was born in Fitchburg on December 23, 1951 a son of Anna (Volpe) Pacetti and the late John R. Pacetti. Raised and educated in Fitchburg he graduated from Fitchburg High School and earned his Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University. On June 19, 1977 in Saint Anthony's Church in Fitchburg he married Patricia E. Fagan and shortly after marriage they moved to Waltham.
John was still working as an electrical engineer at Texas Instruments, formerly National Semi-Conductor where he had worked for over 35 years.
John's faith was of utmost importance to him throughout his life. He was an active member of The Church of Saint Luke where he served as lector and a member of the finance committee. In 2009 John was awarded the Cheverus Award by Cardinal Sean O'Malley for his dedication and service to his church. He had a passion for music and played many instruments but loved playing guitar. In earlier years he played in a band with his brother, Robert, in 'Moonlight.' He loved woodworking and had an ability to tackle any project and do it himself.
In death John joins his father, John; his sister, Mary Pacetti; his uncle, Gerald Volpe and his sister-in-law, Marion Pacetti.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, Patricia, he leaves his mother, Anna Pacetti of Fitchburg; his siblings, Robert Pacetti of Fitchburg, Sylvia Poirier and her husband, Russell of Lunenburg and Carol Cotnoir and her husband, Kevin, of Fitchburg; his aunt, Florence Volpe of Fitchburg; also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, January 31st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
