John S. Passerello

Waltham - Mr. John S. Passerello of Waltham died Tuesday July 6, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 65.

John was born in Waltham, on January 7, 1945, a son of Mary R. (Scandale) Passerello of Waltham and the late Salvatore J. Passerello and was a lifelong resident of Waltham. John was a computer engineer for many years until his retirement for Ceridan Corp., based out of California. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Air Force. In his spare time he enjoyed the ocean, boating, family gatherings, dining out with friends and always treasured special moments with his children and grandchildren.

John was the brother of the late Robert J. Passerello.

In addition to his mother, John leaves his children, Stacey L. Jordan of Plymouth, Lisa A. DellaGatta and her husband, Ronald, of Nashua, New Hampshire; his former wife, MaryEllen (Sennett) Goodwin of Plymouth; two sisters, Marie Norton of Waltham, Janice D. DeLosa of Watertown; his grandchildren, Zachary, Christian, Bianca, Mia, Ava, and Anya. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
