Worcester | Shrewsbury - John A. ‘Jack’ Perry died Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in St. Mary Healthcare Center in Worcester. He was 80.
John Anthony Perry was born June 20, 1942, in Worcester, the son of the late Anthony and Hazel Mae (Wells) Perry. Raised in Worcester he was a graduate of South High School.
In his youth, Jack was a member of the Boy Scouts, and participated high school athletics, martial arts, and long-distance running. He loved fishing the oceans, rivers, and streams near his homes.
Jack served honorably with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
A man of faith, Jack was a member of the Charlton Baptist Church and then the New Life Church in Colorado Springs often leading Bible studies and fellowship.
Jack was employed at Intel Corporation for 20 years (1988-2008) but photography was his life’s passion. Whether teaching photography at Quinsigamond Community College, or running his Light Works photography studio, Jack loved evangelizing his craft. Photographing his customers, friends, and family was his life’s work. While living in Arizona, Utah, and Colorado, Jack captured the spirit of the American Southwest’s vistas, landscapes, and canyons on film.
Jack returned to his native Worcester in 2017.
