Waltham – Mr. John W. Pratt, of Waltham, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 55.
John was born in Brighton on February 16, 1960, a son of Geraldine T. (Jutras) Pratt and the late Robert J. Pratt, and was a lifelong Waltham resident. He was a graduate of Waltham Vocational High School and worked all his life as a machinist at Clematis Machine Shop in Waltham. He was a member of the Westford Gun Club.
He was the husband of the late Joyce K. (Walsh) Pratt.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his daughter, Kristen Ann Pratt of Waltham; his brothers and sisters, Stephen Pratt and his wife, Beverly, of Watertown, Paul Pratt and his wife, Kathy, of Somerville, Cheryl Thompson and her husband, Steve, of Framingham, Joanne Murphy and her husband, Tom, of Westerly Rhode Island, Mary Cataldo and her husband, Harry, of Waltham and Barbara Matarazzo and her husband, Ralph, of Medford; his father and mother-in-law, John "Jack" and June Walsh of Waltham; his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Marie Walsh of Pittsfield, Jeanne and Joseph Arno of Westford, Joan Walsh Sullivan, and James and Diane Walsh, all of Waltham, and William and Denise Walsh of Maynard and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, March 2nd, from 4 to 8 pm and again at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
