John Paul 'JP' Roy

Waltham – Mr. John Paul 'JP' Roy, of Waltham, died Monday, September 30, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. He was 74.
JP was born on October 17, 1944 in Moncton, New Brunswick; JP was one of twelve children born to the late William and Irene (Arsenault) Roy. JP moved to the United States more than fifty years ago, settling in Waltham. Trips 'home' and vacations to Shediac, New Brunswick brought many happy family memories.
JP worked for years as a truck driver for Sears, Roebuck & Co., and after that drove for Harrison Transportation where he made many friends among co-workers and customers. He was often requested as a driver by patrons of the company due to his personable and amiable demeanor.
JP will long be remembered as a kind soul who lived his life full of gratitude. JP was always thankful for the people in his life who helped him along the way, and in turn, he was happiest when he could help others in need. For all that knew JP well, he often spoke the words, "Thank you God", and lived his life appreciating his blessings, while blessing others with his generous and loving spirit.
He leaves behind his children: Lisa L. Keizer (Chris) of Dedham, Marlene I. Bell and Amy M. Caissie (Dennis), all of Waltham; his grandchildren: Alishia Lacourse (Michael), Jake and Ryan Bell, and Joseph, DJ and Julia Caissie; his great-grandchildren: Ella and Landon Lacourse; his siblings: Rita Melanson, Bertha Comeau, Armand Roy, Diane LeBlanc, Regis Roy, Pauline Boudreau, Julia Doucet, all of New Brunswick, Canada, and Roger Roy of Fitchburg and Rose Marie Landry of Rindge, NH.
JP was also a brother of the late Lea Landry and Guillaume Roy.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate JP's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, October 6th from 3 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
Memorial donations may be made to the Greater Boston Food Bank, (www.gbfb.org), 70 South Bay Ave., Boston, MA 02118.
