Jamaica Plain – Mr. John A. Terrasi, of Jamaica Plain, died in his home on Monday September 15, 2014. He was 54.
John was born in Waltham on November 1, 1959, the son of the late John J. and Mary T. (Parisi) Terrasi. He attended Newton South High School and the Peabody School in Newton. John's passion in life was music and he loved to collect all kinds of record albums, Motown was by far his favorite.
He was the son of the late John J. and Mary T. (Parisi) Terrasi and brother of the late Barbara E. Terrasi and Mary P. Irwin.
He survived by his nieces and nephew, Jackie McStay and her husband, Patrick, of Northborough, Laura Maki and her husband, Scott, of Brimfield and Arthur Irwin of Taunton; his great-nieces Sheanah and Jordan McStay and also leaves many close housemates and caretakers.
A special thank you to the Department of Disability Services (DDS), especially Arlene Turner, and his medical team from Boston Medical Center for their many years of services and support to John and also to everyone at UCP, especially the staff of the day and residential support.
Family and friends will honor and remember John's life by gathering for a calling hour on Friday, September 19th, from 9 – 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
