Waltham Mr. Joseph A. Pat Bonica, Sr. of Waltham died Monday, February 6, 2006 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 91. Born in Waltham, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Taranto) Bonica, he was a lifelong resident. During the 1930s, he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. Until his retirement, Pat worked for many years as a security guard for the Raytheon Company, mainly at their Lexington headquarters. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling. The husband of the late Betty E. (Ross) Bonica, he leaves his children, Jeanne Andrea Anderson and her husband, Carl of Middleton, Randi E. Bonica and his wife, Sharon of Waltham and Dana R. Bonica and his wife, Laurie of Tamworth, New Hampshire; one brother, Roland Bonica of South Carolina, 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pat was also the father of the late Joseph A. Bonica, Jr. and a brother of the late Thomas, John, Quentin, Emmanuel Manny, Leonard and Estelle Bonica. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Beth Eden Baptist Church, 84 Maple Street, Waltham, MA 02453.
