Mr. Joseph F. Cannistraro, of Watertown, died Monday June 30, 2008 in Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 73. Born in Waltham, a son of the late Peter M. and Frances (Alfano) Cannistraro. Joe was a Grocery Manager for over fifty years for Stop and Shop Companies until his retirement five years ago. Joe was a graduate of Saint Charles High School in Waltham. He enjoyed playing cards and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Joe was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Army. Joe was the brother of the late Rosario, Carmen, and Charles Cannistraro. Joe leaves one daughter, Teresa M. Cannistraro and her husband, Chris Feijo, of Warren, RI; one son, Patrick M. Cannistraro and his wife, Mary, of Somerville; one brother, Louis Cannistaro and his wife, Barbara, of Waltham; two sisters, Rosemarie Marqus and her husband, Bill, of Watertown and Catherine Camerato of Newton; two sisters-in-law, Sherri Cannistraro of Littleton and Irene Cannistraro of Lexington; his dear friend, Rosemarie Girouard of Watertown; and three grandchildren, Crystal, Aislinn, and Ava and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Charles Church, 51 Hall Street Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 12:30 pm.
