Mr. Joseph G. “Gerard” LeBlanc, of Marlborough, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. He was 94.

Gerard was born in Rumford, Maine on September 15, 1930, a son of the late Fred and Madeleine (Cormier) LeBlanc. Raised in Moncton, New Brunswick, he returned with his family to Rumford when he was 16. After his schooling he joined the United States Army at Fort Williams, Maine and served during the Korean War.

Following his discharge he moved to Waltham where he worked at Raytheon for a time before going to work for the Polaroid Corporation as a machine mechanic specialist. After twenty-four years at Polaroid Gerard worked at W.H. Nichols in Waltham until his retirement.

He began playing the accordion at age 16 and continued throughout his life. Gerard was a proud member of the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 and the French-American Victory Club , both in Waltham, where he made many lifelong friendships.

He and his family enjoyed many happy summer vacations in Cocagne, New Brunswick and was known for his ability to fix anything around house. Most important things to him was his faith. He was a parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Church on Main Street and following its closing joined Saint Mary’s Parish on School Street.
