Waltham Mr. Joseph X. Ormond, Jr., of Waltham, died Monday, February 5, 2007 at his home. He was 77. Joe was born February 15, 1929 in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of the late Joseph X., Sr. and Catherine (Morris) Ormond. He lived in Waltham for the past fifty years. He graduated from high school in Providence and attended Emerson College in Boston. During the Korean War he served as a Petty Officer, 3rd Class, with the United States Navy. Until his retirement twelve years ago, Joe worked as a manager for the Star Market Companies. He was a former communicant at Saint Josephs Church in Waltham and he devoted his life to caring for his family and rooting for Boston sports teams. He leaves his wife, Ruth E. (Worthley) Ormond; his children, Joseph X. Ormond, III and his wife, Susan, of Stow, Ann M. Ormond of Belmont and Susan C. Ormond of Waltham; his grandchildren, Samantha and Lindsay Ormond; one brother, Robert E. Ormond and his wife, Marilyn, of Providence and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, cor. of Newton and River Streets, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
