Mr. Joseph A. ‘Bud’ O’Malley of Waltham died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 in his home. He was 86.
A lifelong Waltham resident, Mr. O’Malley was a sales representative for Quirk Tire Company in Watertown until his retirement. Prior to that, he worked for P.J. O’Malley Construction. After he retired, Mr. O’Malley worked as a driver for the Belmont Council on Aging. An avid gardener, he was totally devoted to his family. Mr. O’Malley was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Brady) O’Malley; the grandfather of the late Kathleen A. Como; the son of the late P. Joseph and Esther A. (Leonard) O’Malley and brother of the late Agnes P. Clark.
Mr. O’Malley is survived by his children, Dorothy A. O’Malley and Peter J. O’Malley, Marcia J. Como and her husband Robert J., and William J. O’Malley and his wife Lisa F., all of Waltham; his grandchildren, Lauren E. Como, Peter J. O’Malley, Kaitlin E. O’Malley and Ann B. Hovsepian; his step-grandchildren, Leo M. Hovsepian, Robert B. Hovsepian, Lois C. Hovsepian, and Mary A. Farrell; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 23, at 8 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
