Joseph H. Quinn

Waltham - Mr. Joseph H. Quinn, of Waltham, died Monday, November 24, 2008 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was 83. Born and raised in Waltham, a son of the late Warren and Lucille (Gentes) Quinn, Joe was a lifelong resident of Waltham and was a graduate of Saint Charles High School. Until his retirement, he worked for many years at the Reece Corporation and after that he worked at Baybank. During World War II Joe served with the United States Army. Joe leaves his wife of sixty years, Barbara M. (Robinson) Quinn; two sons, Waltham Deputy Fire Chief Michael J. Quinn and his fiancé, Karen Quagliozzi, of Harvard, and Mark S. Quinn of Waltham; one sister, Margie Lapierre of Spencer; three grandsons, Michael Quinn, Jr. and his wife, Trisha, of Marlboro, Matthew Quinn and his wife, Melissa, of Canton, and Timothy Quinn and his wife, Chrissy of North Attleboro; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Dorothy McKenzie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Friday, December 5th, at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rev. Robert P. Reed, Catholic T.V., 34 Chestnut Street, P.O. Box 9196, Watertown, MA 02471.
