Mr. Joseph T. Reynolds, of Waltham, died at home on Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was 88.
Joseph was born on May 21, 1932 in Waltham a son of the late Irish immigrants Thomas J. and Bridget (Hargadon) Reynolds. Raised in Waltham he was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home he earned his Bachelor's degree from Boston College and later his Master's Degree in Education. He married Corrine G. Blouin in Saint John the Evangelist Church in North Cambridge on August 24, 1957 and they lived in Cambridge before moving to Waltham in 1965. Corrine died October 28, 2018.
Mr. Reynolds was a longtime educator for over 30 years in the Waltham School System, most notably as a sixth grade teacher, until his retirement.
He and Corrine and family loved their time at Ogunquit Beach in Maine and wintered in Bradenton, Florida. He faithfully followed his New England Sports teams and will be remembered for his terrific sense of humor.
He leaves his children, John Reynolds, Mark Reynolds (Mary) and Joan Allen; his grandchildren, Michael, Susan and Sean Reynolds; his brother, Thomas Reynolds (late Anastasia); his sister-in-law of Gloria O'Neill (William); also survived by nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joseph's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, December 12th at 9 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
