Waltham- Mr. Joseph G. Gerry Savoy of Waltham died Wednesday December 29, 2004 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Brighton. He was 90. Born in New Brunswick, Canada a son of the late Sebastian and Leontine (Landry) Savoy, he was a lifetime resident of Waltham and had been the owner and operator of Waltham Cabinent Company for over forty years. An avid baseball fan, Mr. Savoy was a coach for twenty five years for the Waltham Little Nippers, as well as a 4th degree member of the Waltham Knights of Columbus. He was the husband of the late Evelyn F. (Matthews), and brother of the late Albanie Savoy, Estelle Chaisson, Fern Roche, Cecilia Cooper, and Betty Snelling. He is survived by his children, David L. Savoy of Waltham, Mary Lee Murphy of Chelmsford, Donald J. Savoy of Needham, Susan M. Howell of Billerica, and Claire A. LaFond of Westboro, two sisters Maria Stanton of Waltham, Mary Palmer of Watertown, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered Tuesday January 4th, in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 and 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte.20), Waltham.
