Joseph P. Sheehan, Jr.

Brookline – Mr. Joseph P. Sheehan, formerly of Weston, died Monday, March 10, 2025 in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 69.

Joseph was born November 7, 1955 in Concord, a son of the late Joseph P. and Mary (Dolan) Sheehan. Raised in Weston he was a graduate of Weston High School he then earned his Bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and later studied for his Masters degree. Joe worked as an international recruiter for Merrimack College for many years.

He was a voracious reader and had quite a library of books from varied interests. In earlier years he enjoyed horseback riding

He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth L. (Conroy) Sheehan on July 31, 2001. 

Joe is survived by his children, Michael B. Sheehan of Auburndale and Julia C. Sheehan of Dorchester; his sisters, Rita Sheehan Devens (Richard) of Silver Springs, Maryland and Rosemary Sheehan (Robert Halpern) of Mount Airy, North Carolina; his companion and caregiver, Eugene Trainor of Brookline; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joseph's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, March 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22nd in Saint Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
