Waltham Mr. Joseph S. Trombley of Waltham died Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 89. Born in Waltham, a son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Eddy) Trombley, he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Waltham High School and had worked for many years at Roy Johnsons in Waltham and later at Quirk Tire Company in Watertown. He was a past president of the Waltham Little League. Long active in local politics, Mr. Trombley had served as a City Councillor from Ward 1 and had also been City Council president. He was also the Waltham City Clerk for many years before his retirement in 1980. Before that he served as an assistant City Clerk for several years. He also worked for a time on the staff of Massachusetts Senator Henry Cabot Lodge and also ran the Republican convention for Eliot Richardson. The husband of the late Barbara G. (Potter) Trombley, he leaves his children, Bruce A. Courtney and his wife Mary of Marshfield, Charlene A. Doucette of Claremont, New Hampshire and Wayne J. Trombley and his companion, Gayle Hassett of Waltham; his sister, June M. OBrien of Waltham; three brothers, Kenneth E. Trombley and his wife Jeannette, Paul R. Trombley and George K. Trombley all of Waltham, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Thursday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
