Mr. Joseph R. Valiante, of Dracut, formerly of Waltham, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 15, 2019. He was 66.
Born on February 11, 1953 in Somerville, he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Thelma M. (Benoit) Valiante. Raised and educated in Waltham he was a graduate of Waltham High School. He had lived in Dracut eighteen years.
For over twenty years Joe worked at Hewlett-Packard and later at the Merrimack Special Education Collaborative in Billerica for ten years. Over the last four years he was working in private duty care as a home health aide.
He was a huge New England sports enthusiast and looked forward to his annual vacations and cruises with Ann, his family, and his friends. Joe loved all genre's of music but had an affection for The Beatle's.
He was a brother of the late Marie Westerman.
He leaves his wife of 18 years, Ann M. (Coelho) Valiante; his step-sons Jeffrey L. Lanaville (Elizabeth) of Kingston, New Hampshire and Jason L. Lanaville (Rebecca) of Hudson, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Parker and Abel Lanaville; his mother-in-law, Doris H. (Ouellette) Coelho (late Alfred) of Andover; in-laws including Barbara Corneau of Andover, Brenda Soucy (Michael) of Methuen and Michael Coelho (Maura Zaker) of Dracut; his life-long friends of Rick Sanger and Tom Delesky; also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joseph's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, February 22nd from 10 a.m. to 12 noon before leaving in procession to Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham where his graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m.
A celebration of Joe's life will take place at a later date.
