Mrs. Josephine (Collins) Eisner of Waltham died Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield. She was 94. Mrs. Eisner was born in Roxbury on February 2, 1922, a daughter of the late George and Olive (Backoff) Collins.
She was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School as well as the Boston Clerical School.
Josephine an administrative assistant in the Registrar's Office of M.I.T. for over twenty-five years until her retirement at age 75.
She was the wife of the late George C. Eisner, the grandmother of the late Keith Eisner, and the sister of the late George Collins.
Josephine is survived by her stepdaughter, Marjorie Shanahan of Granite Bay, CA; her stepson, Kenneth Eisner and his wife, Cheryl, of Bonita Springs FL; her granddaughter, Christine Convery of Pennsylvania; her great granddaughter, Allison Convery and her nephew, Edward Collins of Waltham.
Family and friends will honor and remember Josephine's life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday, December 1st, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Friday at 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
